1. What if I don't like tuna?
You can substitute other fish such as SALMON, SARDINES or MACKERAL.

2. What if I don't like fish at all?
You can substitute chicken but  you must have six to ten fish oil capsules with that meal.

3. What about beans?
Beware beans – I liken them to a piece of steak on your fork with 3 chips behind it. I would prefer you not to have them at all during the strict six week diet, because it works better without them, I am happy for them to be used after that 6 weeks but never exceed 20% of your meal with them.

4. Do I have to have a glass of red wine with each evening meal?
No of course not. I would prefer you to cut your alcohol intake down. However I’m a realist, and if I’m asking you to to cut out most things you like in the diet , then I have deliberately left some reward for you in it . This means you are more likely to achieve completion of the diet. You cant substitute white whin as it has more sugar than red, and if you have spirits then the mixers must be no sugar mixers.

5. Will I get any effect from stopping coffee?
Oh yes! Expect headaches , cravings and irritability. All symptoms of its addiction. Not until you stop do you realise how this addiction was ruling your life.

6. Can I have coffee again after the diet?
A maximum of one a day.

7. What will happen to my bowels on this diet?
Because your bowels have been driven by the high sugar load that your body has been dumping in them, then they have become used to this mechanism driving them. It is a bit like some one taking opening medicine every day and the bowels get used to this drive. When you remove this abnormal drive the bowels will relax and may take a few weeks to begin working regularly again. If you are troubled by this then plain psyllium husk is the best way to maintain regularity. Or occasionally a dose of Milk of Magnesia.

8. Will I get bad breath on this diet?
It is much less likely on this diet than others because this is not a keto-genic diet. The ketones produced during muscle breakdown are responsible for a lot of the breath odour. Because you feel healthy and well, you actually do more exercise and build muscle up there by minimising this problem.

9. Will I put the weight back on as soon as I stop the diet?
No! because the diet makes you so sensitive to the wrong food that you never go back to your original eating because it makes you feel so sick if you do. The whole object of this diet is to put you back in control of your own health, and as soon as you mentally correlate feeling unwell with what you eat, you just don’t want to eat it and go lose this control.

10. How hard is it to do the diet?
I have deliberately left the diet loose so that you can fit it in with what you normally eat (within its restrictions). The first week is tough, you realise how sick you really are, how addicted you are but that makes you want to get better. On the seventh day you wake up and cannot believe how well you feel, and how much energy you have got. This feeling then does not stop, and you don’t want to lose it and this then makes the diet easier. You do get a bit of tuna every day, but anybody can do it for 6 weeks if it means you are going to get your health back forever.

11. Can I do the diet if I'm a diabetic?
Of course. This is the best diet a diabetic could be on. HbA1c’s come back to normal and type 1 need to reduce their insulin requirements.

12. My doctor says this is just a fad diet and I shouldn't do it!
You have to ask yourself two very relevant questions in response to a statement like that; a. Why are you seeing him/her and what has he/she done to actually help you, b, do you want to put the effort in to get control of your own wellness back – essentially you have nothing to lose by trying it. The diet has been scientifically formulated, tested on several thousand people, with an average weight loss of 6 kg in the 6 weeks, and a 93% success rate. The average weight gain after 2 years of doing the initial diet is only 1 kg. There has been a reduction in total prescription medication by 50% . There is marked reduction in blood pressure , liver enzymes go back to normal indicating fatty liver changes have resolved , most people come off their antidepressant medications, pre-diabetic symptoms resolve and most diabetics achieve better control . So in response, you ask your doctor can they give you a chance of achieving those goals with out medication, and then make up your own mind.
